Lola Clavo. (Barcelona, 1983)
Lola graduated in 2006 in Film Direction by the Superior School of Cinema and Audiovisuals of Catalonia (ESCAC). During her student’s years her short films where selected twice to represent the young talents of the school. In 2006 she started a practicum agreement between ESCAC and MACBA (Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona), where she stayed as an intern in the audiovisual department for six months.
In 2007 she moves to London, where she works as freelance in many different areas and formats (from camera operator to post-production; from feature films to video-dancing). At the same time, she explores subjects related to sexuality, post-pornography and queer theory. In 2009 her short film No love lost is selected to be part of the collective exhibition Spinning Tongues, curated by the Rotoreliefs collective. That same year, she’s awarded with La Caixa grant, one of the most important grants in Spain, to keep further with her studies in the UK. In top of that, her short film La lucha wins the second prize at the Petra Joy Awards, which are hold inside the Berlin Porn Film Festival. In 2010 her short film Switch! is released and screened in many different environments and countries, from Hangar in Barcelona to Volte Gallery in Mumbay or Galloverde International Film Festival on Sexual Thematic, Buenos Aires.
Currently, Lola lives in London, where she is an MA in Film Making student at Goldsmiths University of London.
